Active Travel
Lambeth Active Travel Team is again hosting a wide range of cycling elements at this year’s show. Find their cycle village next to the cycle parking by the Herne Hill entrance to the park.
★ Active Travel Stall
Come and have a chat to the team in the Eco Village about some of their projects such as Try Before You Bike and free cycle training within the borough.
HGV awareness – pedestrians and cyclists can get into the cab of a Serco truck to experience blind spots and get advice on road sharing with large vehicles. Look for the Serco truck next to the Active Travel stall.
★ Dr. Bike
A special biker’s valet service will be available to cyclists who ride to the event via Herne Hill entrance (Gate 5).
★ Bike Marking
Our friendly Safer Transport Team and the Policewill join us to security mark bikes and add them to the BikeRegister.
★ Lambeth Bike Market – Peddle My Wheels
Peddle My Wheels will be hosting a Bike Market near the Herne Hill entrance where you can buy a fully serviced, affordable, used bike at a great price. Alternatively, you can donate your old, unwanted, outgrown bikes which will be donated to upCYCLE who provide free bikes, cycle training, and bike maintenance workshops for young people from minority ethnic groups.

There will be 2 convenient cycle parking areas this year. They are located at the following entrances within Brockwell Park:
– Herne Hill Station (Entrance A / Gate 5)
– Tulse Hill / Brixton (Entrance C / Gates 8, 9 and 10)

Cycle Confident, in partnership with Lambeth’s Active Travel Team, are organising two rides on both days of the show from Streatham Common and Archbishop’s Park or Vauxhall Park. Find out more here.

★ The Chocolate Museum
Both days: All day
The Chocolate Museum is an independent museum established by Isabelle Alaya, artisan french chocolatier. Her exhibition covers a range of objects, memorabilia and a quiz game app ChocoTale: Following the history of the cacao bean from the Mayans all the way to current day chocolateering. Activities on the day will consist in making chocolates and creating a wrapper for it!
★ The Illusioneer – Theatre of Magic & Illusion
Both days: All day
Discover a world of magic and illusion from this unique little theatre in Herne Hill. Performances will be throughout the day on both days, along with magic workshops and the opportunity to become a magician yourself!
★ This Is Book Love

This is Book Love is an award winning collective of Educators, Artists, Musicians, Creatives, Aunties, Uncles, Parents and Grandparents working together to make multicultural matter.

★ The Pop-Up Choir

Formed in 2009 and based South London, The Pop-Up Choir is a contemporary co-operative 25-piece a cappella rabble singing in 5-part harmony (SAATB).
★ Mr. Wonderful presents The Lambeth Tea Dance
Mr Wonderful (aka Malcolm Fernandes) has been keeping London fit, healthy and dancing for over 30 Years by organising, promoting and presenting afternoon Tea Dances, hosting Evening Social dances and Special Events. He first started hosting Social Ballroom & Latin dances at the then Mecca run Cafe de Paris in London’s Leicester Square. He has gone on to host dances in all the major Dance Halls in London, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Margate, Folkestone, Harrogate, Coventry and Manchester.
★ Real Voices
We are Real Voices: a community of contemporary choirs in South London. We perform an eclectic repertoire of contemporary popular music that will challenge and expand your musicianship. Open to all regardless of level of musical experience, we push ourselves to achieve high musical standards whilst having a brilliant time in the process!
★ Lambeth Creative Consortium

The Creative Consortium is back! Come and see a jampacked stage with over 60 talented young people from all corners of the borough. The Boury Academy, Unicap and Kinetika Bloco have formed part of Lambeth’s New Creative Consortium with funding and support from both Lambeth Council’s Youth and Play Team and the ELEVATE programme. They have come together for a second year running to showcase some brilliant young Lambeth Talent.
Incorporating live music with a mixture of Capoeira and Commercial Hip Hop dance styles brought together to celebrate our rich and diverse culture here in Lambeth. Our musical partners Kinetika Bloco will be bringing their unique British Carnival sound, taking influences from the Caribbean, Brazil, Africa and New Orleans using Brass and Woodwind, Steel Pans and Samba Drums. We will be performing “On The Spot” by Grammy-Nominated Hot 8 Brass Band and “Bongo Jam”, a funky house classic by Crazy Cousinz. So, join us for a jam in the park sure to get you in the festival vibe!
★ La Morenita Flamenca
La Morenita Flamenca (Michelle Carrier) is a professional flamenco dancer currently based in London, UK where she has been a soloist and a major creative force behind the popular flamenco group Sumaya Flamenco for the past five years.
★ Urvashi Indian Dance & Storytelling

A colourful aesthetic to the festival with costumes and bells and lovely exquisite Indian dancing and storytelling appealing to all ages. Colours collide with rhythm and melody – the performance will be inspiring and the workshop will give viewers a chance to experience the beautiful joy of dance.
★ Aim High Dance Academy
Aim High Dance Academy is a Dance School based in Croydon, providing online and studio classes. They specialise in Street Dance, but also offers a wide range of different dance styles and techniques.
★ Steppaz
Steppaz is a World Champion company that strives to achieve all things “One Step At A Time”. Established in 2013, Steppaz provides professional classes for all ages from age 3 in the community. Steppaz develop self-confidence, creativity, problem solving, perseverance, focus, collaboration, dedication and accountability.
SUNDAY
★ LEKIDDO – Lord of The Lobsters!

The spreader of Lobster Love, is Lobsterliciously looking forward to performing and entertaining all the beautiful PinchyPinchyKissKiss peoples at the Lambeth Country Show!
★ Jig and a Swig

Jig and a Swig is a social adults Irish dance class in London Waterloo. They’re on a mission to bring people together through Irish dancing (the jig) and making new friends over a drink (the swig). They run classes from absolute beginners to those with experience, private group classes and event performances.
★ South London Choir

Established in 2006, the South London Choir is a non-auditioning community choir with over 130 members, led by the multi-talented singer/songwriter and musical director, MJ Paranzino.
Over the years, members have organised a programme of community outreach concerts, at one point raising over £7500 for various charities, in the belief that singing is a joyous and mutually uplifting experience.

★ The Norwood School Sixth Form Dance Troupe
Students at The Norwood School study Dance as part of the main KS3 curriculum as well as having the option of taking Dance as a GCSE, BTEC or RSL qualification in KS4 and KS5. They perform regularly throughout the year both in school and as part of outside performances. We will see performances from the Norwood Dance Company as well as a range of students from extracurricular Dance Club who have been working with the Dance department, supported by teachers from Step Into Dance, to produce pieces in a variety of styles.
★ Segatastic Mauritian Fusion Dancers
Segatastic Mauritian Fusion Dancers are a professional UK dance troupe – specialising in Sega, the official National Dance of Mauritius. Performing in bright and beautiful national costumes, to the beat of the spirit of Africa, resonating through the musical instruments while the songs, sung in Creole, depict Musical Expression of the Mauritian Way of Life: Joy and Liveliness!
★ E Squad
A children’s street dance crew called E Squad, ranging from the ages 7 – 16 based in Brixton. Their performance will consist of an energetic & entertaining dance to a variety of music and dance style genres.
★ Moving Into Age (Over 60’s Dance Troupe)
MIA are an over 60’s dance troupe with the intent of showing what the older generation can do and include everyone in the workshop.
★ TEAM Dance Academy
TEAM Dance Academy is a thriving dance school in the heart of Crystal Palace, South East London. At TEAM we offer affordable yet professional dance classes from age 2 years up. The school was founded in 2010 by Principal Lucy Rodgers who is very experienced and qualified in all aspects of dance. Lucy and her staff pride themselves on their professional approach and uncompromising standards.

★ Happy Drums (Accessible Music Workshop – All ages)
Tony Bailey has been bringing families together through his diverse drumming classes. His sessions celebrate Lambeth’s many diverse communities. He uses inclusive facilitation – a method that encourages families from different backgrounds to contribute with their own traditional style of music.
★ Tuneless Choir London Vauxhall
Tuneless Choir London Vauxhall launched into song in January 2018 at the beautiful Tea House Theatre. They tunelessly sing a range of well-known songs from Doris Day, Oasis and Adele to Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Amy Winehouse. There are no parts to learn, judgement or any pressure at all – so join in their workshop on Saturday afternoon.
★ Shamha Drumming For Wellbeing (Drumming Workshop – All ages) (Both days)
Shamha Vibration is a Community Interest Company based in Brixton, South London. They use funding from organisations including The National Lottery Community Fund and The London Community Foundation along with profits from our commercial activities to provide free African drumming workshops and free Moroccan food workshops in Communities throughout London, particularly the South East.
★ Dendê Nation – London Samba-Reggae
Afro Brazilian samba reggae drumming. Drums have a profound effect on the listener and with the infectious grooves from Salvador – Bahia – Brazil. Discover Afro-Brazilian culture at the Country Show.
★ SHE Choir
SHE are a volunteer-run choir for women, non-binary and genderqueer people based in London. Singing original arrangements of pop, rock, R&B and more, we put our unique spin on favourites from Adele to Bruce Springsteen (with a bit of Backstreet Boys along the way). If you can sing in the shower, you can sing in SHE Choir.
★ Vegetable Sculpture Workshop (Ages 5 to 12)
Are you a fan of the Vegetable Sculpture Competition? Or would like to try something new? Come and learn how to carve your very own vegetable sculpture! With two time Vegetable Sculpture Competition winner Florence Creffield.
Saturday workshop for ages 5-12. Parental supervision required for 5-12 year olds.

★ Joy of Sound (Accessible Music Workshop – All ages)
Joy of Sound promote and advocate for social equity and inclusion through music and combined art activities, public events and research in established and new community settings across Greater London, UK wide and internationally. Come and join in on their annual Country Show musical jam.
★ AkomaAsa Performing Arts Academy
AkomaAsa Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts education and cultural empowerment organisation. We deliver dance, music, drama and performance training for children and young people aged 6- 16+. They will be hosting a workshop on Sunday for all to take part.
★ Allison Mason Folk Songs & Story Teller
For many years Allison has educated and entertained through Oral Tradition – in schools and creches, on TV and Radio , for various Black History Events and for various Organisations. Oral Tradition is firmly and richly steeped in the African / Caribbean Culture and can never be replaced in this age of digital and mechanical alternatives.
With interactive songs, poetry , games and humourous Anancy stories. Its undiluted Cultural fun for all ages with a feel good factor. Bringing back fond childhood memories for the elders whilst teaching the youngsters some real Caribbean Culture, History and Traditions.
★ Vegetable Sculpture Workshop (Ages 13+)
Are you a fan of the Vegetable Sculpture Competition? Or would like to try something new? Come and learn how to carve your very own vegetable sculpture! With two time Vegetable Sculpture Competition winner Florence Creffield.
★ Hootini Brass Band

Hootini is a nine piece upbeat brass band from South London. With a wide range of musical influences including jazz, Afro-Latin, hip hop, drum and bass, and funk, Hootini have a unique and original sound. Performing their own music alongside original brass covers, Hootini will be closing out our Arts & Culture stretch tent in style.
BMC Radio

A small, friendly Brixton community internet radio station. They will be bringing their studio to Brockwell Park and broadcasting live all weekend.
Collaboration is the key to everything they do. BMC are proudly a free space for artists to broadcast from and a welcoming place to facilitate work experience, training and workshops for young people and the local community. ★ Darren Cullen aka Spelling Mistakes Cost Lives
Darren is a satirical artist originally from Leeds, now based in south east London where he runs the Museum of Neoliberalism. Cullen is best known for his Mini Daily Mail, Action Man: Battlefield Casualties toys and Pocket Money Loans payday loan shop for kids, which featured at Banksy’s Dismaland.
His latest project is the Hell Bus, a pre-apocalyptic marketing suite about oil company greenwashing, satirising the absurd spectacle of oil and gas corporations attempting to convince the public that they’re going to help save the world from oil and gas corporations.
★ Greenpeace UK
Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world from destruction. Their vision is a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come.
★ BeeUrban
BeeUrban is a honeybee-centric social enterprise based in Kennington, South London, which aims to positively influence the urban environment through supporting local people and promoting positive, ecologically sound practice around urban greening, building, farming and particularly bee-keeping.
★ No Time To Waste
No Time to Waste is an environmental arts project aimed at 5-11 year olds which seeks to inform and empower young people about issues, such as single use plastic, climate change, and sea life protection so they can make choices to care for and protect our planet. It is centred around Gusita their 5 meter turtle sculpture made from tyres and other interactive recycled sculptures.
Through storytelling, puppetry, team games, petition signing and hands on workshops such as tyre furniture skills and plastic bag jellyfish, they provide a playful sensory learning experience children can integrate into their everyday lives.
★ Father Nature
Father Nature is a landscape gardening and horticultural organisation with soul. Their aim is to connect inner city folk, young and old, with the potential of Lambeth’s growing spaces, with nature, with one another. Their current sustainable community growing projects include building outdoor classrooms for urban schools, street-side planters for community growing, gardening sessions at communal spaces and planting parties wherever we’re needed.
★ Froglife & The London Blue Chain
Froglife is a national wildlife conservation charity concerned with the conservation of the UK’s reptile and amphibian species and their associated habitats. Our holistic approach to nature conservation enables us to take individuals on a wildlife journey, whilst also delivering amazing results for our amphibian and reptile species.
★ London Beekeepers’ Association

The London Beekeepers’ Association (LBKA) is a volunteer-run members’ organisation and Registered Charity that represents the interests of beekeepers and urban beekeeping in the central London area. They provide education and advice, promoting responsible bee keeping and raising awareness of the issues affecting bees.
★ London Wildlife Trust
London Wildlife Trust is the leading voice for wildlife conservation in the capital. Several of their nature reserves, including Camley Street Natural Park, Gunnersbury Triangle, and Sydenham Hill Wood have been saved from development thanks to volunteers and supporters.
Alongside their volunteers, they manage 37 nature reserves across the capital including habitats such as woodland, grassland and wetland. They take practical action every day to help wildlife flourish. and we support national campaigns led by The Wildlife Trusts.
★ WWF
WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Their mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together. To achieve their mission, they’re finding ways to help transform the future for the world’s wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet.
★ Serco Environmental Services
Serco provide a diverse range of sustainable waste management services to residents in Lambeth. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you have. They will also be showcasing their fully upcycled and 100% electric waste disposal truck, which is one of the many actions being taken to reduce their and Lambeth’s carbon footprint.
The Farm
★ Vauxhall City Farm

Our good friends at Vauxhall City Farm have been attending the show for many years and they will bringing everything except the kitchen sink with them. Their whole family of sheep, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits and more will be in attendence for their annual weekend trip, as well as various arts & craft workshops and the infamous ‘cuddle corner’.

With 35 classes to enter livestock in to, you can expect to see over 100 sheep across 25 different breeds on display… all competing for Lambeth Best in Show 2023.
★ CJ’s Birds of Prey

CJ’s pride themselves on always giving informative and educational commentaries from their vast experience, yet manage to retain a light hearted and often humorous approach to the antics of their birds, who may not always work to their scripts.

Flower Show

There are 83 different classes to see, including the coveted Vegetable Sculpture Competition.

★ Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses
Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses (BPCG) is a community garden in the centre of Lambeth’s Brockwell Park. Their beautiful, large site includes an orchard, a series of demonstration gardens, a walled herb garden and two large greenhouses. They are open to the public and for garden volunteering four days a week, Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm (GMT) and to 5pm (BST).
★ Friends of Brockwell Park
Friends of Brockwell Park is a charity made up of members, our committee and other volunteers who want to preserve and protect the park for the whole community.
LatinoLife Stage (New for 2023)
LatinoLife is the UK’s leading Latin media, events and music company. In 2022 it became the first Latin-run organisation to be awarded NPO status – National Portfolio Organisation – joining the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Opera House, Sadler’s Wells and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as one of the Government’s ‘esteemed cultural institutions’ recognised for artistic excellence.

Grooveschool Stage (New for 2023)
Grooveschool (CIO) offer a range of music workshops that allow access to the basics of music production and DJ skills – regardless of age, ability or background. Students gain skills and confidence in handling the building blocks of modern music technology. The Grooveschool charity has been running free of cost workshops week in, week out for local young people since 2011.
Current programmes include: Amplify Young Styles, in which local DJs and producers are given training and opportunities to enhance their artists profiles; Deaf Rave DJ workshops, which are the UKs first DJ workshops for Deaf people; Connexion events with South London Cares, which enable the older generation to meet over conversations about music and playing records.
From their base in Brixton they host the Steele Got It podcast, which engages on issues for the local community and also work with Juvenis, giving local young people valued alternative paths to re-engage with learning.
For the very first time, Grooveschool will be hosting a stage showcasing the talents of their students, local DJs and producers.

★ Les Amis d’Onno Equine

The UK’s premier equestrian stunt team performing all over the UK and Ireland with their Friesian, Andalucian and Fjord horses. 12 performers and 8 horses will performing a ‘Knights of the North Stunt Jousting Show’ and ‘Trick Riding Stunt Show’ on both days.
★ Imps Motorcycle Display Team

Saturday only: 4:15pm and 7:15pm
The world’s premier military style display team. The ‘IMPS’ is dedicated to educating children through, though not exclusively, their leisure time activities – delivered by a disciplined, dynamic and challenging programme of activities with a world-famous motorcycle display team at its heart.
★ CJ’s Birds of Prey
Both days: 2pm and 5pm
CJ’s pride themselves on always giving informative and educational commentaries from their vast experience, yet manage to retain a light hearted and often humorous approach to the antics of their birds, who may not always work to their scripts.
★ Solent Stars | Wheels and Thrills
Both days: 2:45pm and 5:45pm
Solent Stars CIC is a Children’s Stunt Team, a group of children who are working hard training every weekend to deliver Wheels and Thrills entertainment. But there’s far more that goes on behind the scenes and their ethos is not only teaching children aged 5-16 motorcycle skills, but they work with the children to educate them to respect the road both as children and into adulthood.
★ Steve Colley Motorcycle Trials
Sunday only: 4:15pm and 6:30pm
The skills of motorcycle trials riders like Steve Colley have to be seen to be believed. He can do things with motorcycles that we mere mortals would consider impossible… like riding up and over cars and buses for example!
★ Best in Show Parade

The Original Wall of Death (New for 2023)
The Wall of Death has been synonymous with speed and danger since it’s conception back in the early part of the 20th century. The Original Wall of Death harks back to those early days, with the wall being constructed in 1928, and the bikes, Indian Scouts, made in 1921.
All those who see the show will remember it for the rest of their life. The noise, the speed, the smell, the proximity of the bikes ridden to the top of the wall, barely 6 inches from the audience – an experience never to be forgotten!

Paws & Pause Dog Day Care
Paws and Pause is a dog day care with a difference. Being the only socially conscious day care in London, we combine premium canine care with mental health support for vulnerable adults in the local community.
In terms of dog care, our focus is on the fun factor. We provide a safe, nurturing and enriching space for dogs and people alike. With an experienced and dedicated team of canine carers, we always prioritise our dogs’ welfare and wellbeing needs to ensure their stay with us is rewarding and fulfilling. The day is structured with play, enrichment and rest, with ample time for treats and cuddles in between!
Our original Brixton location has been going strong now for four years, and with the ongoing success of our trainee programme and dog care facilities, Paws & Pause is now expanding into a new location in Peckham.
Make sure to swing by our stall in the discovery centre to collect a prospectus and take part in some of our dog friendly activities, including agility and a dog cooling station. Humans aren’t the only ones who can have all the fun!
